The year 2026 will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence and therefore denotes the semiquincentennial anniversary of our nation. In recognition of this significant milestone, communities across the country are uniting to organize local celebrations. In Glastonbury, the Parks & Recreation Department is spearheading this effort through a collaborative working group of community stakeholders. America's 250th Anniversary Working Group members currently include:
Town Departments

Glastonbury's campaign will include 1 or 2 signature events to be funded through community donations, sponsorships, and other sources as identified. Community groups that are part of the Working Group are also collecting donations to support their related events.
