The staff at the AYTC inspires youth to be kind and take time to unwind after a long day of learning. A variety of supervised, unstructured adventures await them. The Center is furnished with a game lounge and arts and crafts center and portable basketball hoop. Kids also have opportunities to help with gardening and participate in walking trips downtown. Come be part of the GOOD VIBES TRIBE! Transportation is provided from Smith & Gideon. Sign up at the main office at Gideon or Smith. Daily admission fees will be collected at the Teen Center for those who do not have passes. Closed on school and Town holidays. New this year, digital passes can be purchased online and scanned for entry! Vacation VoyagersThe “Vacation Voyagers” program is a comprehensive and exciting vacation experience that combines the joy of creativity, the thrill and excitement of games, and the value of making lasting memories! It’s an opportunity for participants to embark on a journey of fun, imagination, and building connections that they’ll cherish long after the program ends! April Vacation Field Trips TBD.Before/after care options are available. Before care will be from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., and after care will be from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Before/After Care will be $25.00 each for the week. Engineering Imagination Vacation CampExplore the fascinating world of “S.T.E.A.M.” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics) through the hands-on, minds-on, unique camps offered by Engineering Imagination! In this exciting and educational program, participants will use a wide variety of mediums such as LEGO®, KEVA®, R/C vehicles, as well as recycled materials to learn about, plan and build projects such as model bridges, factories and roller coasters. With activities and topics including mechanical engineering, architecture, reverse engineering, and environmental science, participants are sure to have a blast while learning along the way!Skateboarding Vacation CampJoin us for a week of skating and excitement! We will go over all the basics of skateboarding including learning the parts of the board and all the ramps in a skatepark, with fun games and activities included! Great for all ages and anyone interested in riding a skateboard. This camp will include instruction for beginners such as riding the board, board control, and balance. As participants advance, instructors will teach flat ground tricks and hitting the ramps. Based on skill level, they will work up to ollies and other fun tricks! Fairies & Dragons Art-VenturesEnter the fantasy world of imagination, where art-venturers unleash their inner elves as they conjure up fire-breathing dragons, transform colorful clay into silly goblin masks, and create winged fairy or armored knight dolls. Sculpt bedazzling unicorns with rainbow manes, design witch, or wizard figurines, and build wooden fairy houses with real shells, stones, moss and more. Paint ceramic unicorn banks and create your own dragon or mermaid t-shirts! With the aid of some very magical potions and spells (i.e. materials and techniques), campers experience painting, drawing, stained glass, ceramic, fabric, and clay art. Enjoy an enchanted week of two- and three-dimensional works of art! Storytelling is included in these fun, fantasy-filled ART-ventures!Red Hot RobotsChildren will learn the basics of robotics by constructing their own age-appropriate robot throughout the week. They will gain a basic knowledge of the science of wheels, simple machines, and gears. They will experience different types of robotic devices including line-tracking and responsive robots. Robots go home with campers on the last day of the program. Supplies included!
