Come celebrate the holidays in themed parties designed for children ages 1-5.  Each party will consist of a story, craft, games and a snack.  Children must be accompanied by a caregiver for the all events.St Patty, Bunny Hop & Under the Sea Party - Programs meets in the Academy Gym to begin with Free Play, a game and story, then move into the cafeteria/multipurpose room for the craft and snack/treat.Beach Party - Will meet in Academy Multipurpose Room.Summer Picnic - Will meet at JB Williams Park Little Sweeties DanceJoin us for a heart warming Valentine’s Day celebration for young children and a special adult! Teddy Bear PicnicJoin us for a delightful Teddy Bear Picnic filled with fun, creativity, and imagination! Children will enjoy a magical day that includes Crafts, Story Time, Activities, Games and Making their very own Teddy Bear. Pack a blanket and get ready for an unforgettable day of smiles and snuggles. Perfect for young children and their favorite adult! Pirate CruiseJoin Glastonbury Parks & Recreation and Slip-A-Way tours on the high seas (aka Connecticut River) for a Pirate Adventure. We’ll hunt for treasure and sing pirate songs on a 45 minute cruise on a 30 foot pontoon boat.  Registration includes spot for one child and one adult.  If you wish to bring a second child you may register for a maximum of one additional child.  Registration for Under the Sea, Summer Picnic and Beach Party begins on Tuesday, March 10th.

Join us for a fun puzzle making contest!  Come with a team of up to 4 people to finish a 500 piece puzzle.  Snacks and a prize for the winning team will be provided.One person from each team should register for the event.  Each registrant may bring up to 3 additional people to be on their team.Team captain who registers must be at least 18 years old but teams may consist of members 14+Each Team can win one prize per season.  Fall season runs Sept-Dec, Winter Season Jan-March and Spring Season April-June.  If the team that finishes first has already won a prize the second place team will be given the prize and so on.Correction from Brochure - Cost is $25/team.  Puzzle Palooza - JR EditionJoin us for Puzzle Palooza JR, where kids can team up with friends or family (up to 4 people per team) to complete a 300-piece puzzle. Join us for a fun puzzle making contest!  Come with a team of up to 4 people to finish a 500 piece puzzle.  Snacks and a prize for the winning team will be provided.One person from each team should register for the event.  Each registrant may bring up to 3 additional people to be on their team.Team captain who registers must be at least 18 years old but teams may consist of members 14+Each Team can win one prize per season.  Fall season runs Sept-Dec, Winter Season Jan-March and Spring Season April-June.  If the team that finishes first has already won a prize the second place team will be given the prize and so on.Correction from Brochure - Cost is $25/team.  Puzzle Palooza - JR EditionJoin us for Puzzle Palooza JR, where kids can team up with friends or family (up to 4 people per team) to complete a 300-piece puzzle. There truly is something for EVERYONE! CLASS DESCRIPTIONSTrail Explorers(Grades K-5)Come explore the outdoors and make nature-loving friends as we hike at JB Williams, Blackledge Falls, and more! Each week we will hike at a different Glastonbury park while practicing trail navigation, searching for natural wonders and enjoying the changing seasons. Participants will receive a schedule of locations prior to the first week of the class, including suggestions for weather-appropriate clothing since this program meets rain or shine!Aspiring Young Engineers (Engineering Imagination)(Grades 2-5) **Location Changed from Brochure**This program is a wide-ranging exploration of our unique, customized S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics) curriculum! Tag a fence or doodle your way into a discovery of drawing, painting, collage, relief sculpture and much more.Skyhawks Sports and Games(Grades 1-4)Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Our programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Join us for a fun puzzle making contest!  Come with a team of up to 4 people to finish a 500 piece puzzle.  Snacks and a prize for the winning team will be provided.One person from each team should register for the event.  Each registrant may bring up to 3 additional people to be on their team.Team captain who registers must be at least 18 years old but teams may consist of members 14+Each Team can win one prize per season.  Fall season runs Sept-Dec, Winter Season Jan-March and Spring Season April-June.  If the team that finishes first has already won a prize the second place team will be given the prize and so on.Correction from Brochure - Cost is $25/team.  Puzzle Palooza - JR EditionJoin us for Puzzle Palooza JR, where kids can team up with friends or family (up to 4 people per team) to complete a 300-piece puzzle. We will go over all the basics of skateboarding including learning the parts of the board and all the ramps in a skatepark, with fun games and activities included! As participants advance, instructors will teach flat ground tricks and hitting the ramps. Sculpt bedazzling unicorns with rainbow manes, design witch, or wizard figurines, and build wooden fairy houses with real shells, stones, moss and more. Paint ceramic unicorn banks and create your own dragon or mermaid t-shirts! With the aid of some very magical potions and spells (i.e. materials and techniques), campers experience painting, drawing, stained glass, ceramic, fabric, and clay art. Enjoy an enchanted week of two- and three-dimensional works of art! Storytelling is included in these fun, fantasy-filled ART-ventures!Red Hot RobotsChildren will learn the basics of robotics by constructing their own age-appropriate robot throughout the week. The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.To enroll in the Lifeguard course, you must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled class session. To participate in the course, you must be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation that includes the following:Two Distance/Times Events Swim freestyle or breaststroke 150 yards, tread water without using arms for 2 minutes, swim 50 yards. Goggles may be used. Swim 20 yards, do a surface dive to depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound diving brick from the bottom and return to the surface, swim 20 yards holding the brick at the surface, then climb out of the pool. Goggles may not be used. Based on skill level, they will work up to ollies and other fun tricks! Fairies & Dragons Art-VenturesEnter the fantasy world of imagination, where art-venturers unleash their inner elves as they conjure up fire-breathing dragons, transform colorful clay into silly goblin masks, and create winged fairy or armored knight dolls. Sculpt bedazzling unicorns with rainbow manes, design witch, or wizard figurines, and build wooden fairy houses with real shells, stones, moss and more. Paint ceramic unicorn banks and create your own dragon or mermaid t-shirts! With the aid of some very magical potions and spells (i.e. materials and techniques), campers experience painting, drawing, stained glass, ceramic, fabric, and clay art. Enjoy an enchanted week of two- and three-dimensional works of art! Storytelling is included in these fun, fantasy-filled ART-ventures!Red Hot RobotsChildren will learn the basics of robotics by constructing their own age-appropriate robot throughout the week. They will gain a basic knowledge of the science of wheels, simple machines, and gears. They will experience different types of robotic devices including line-tracking and responsive robots. Robots go home with campers on the last day of the program. Supplies included!
