Get your creativity on with our fall enrichment programs! Offerings include science, technology, engineering, art, and sports programs. There truly is something for EVERYONE! CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Trail Explorers(Grades K-5)Come explore the outdoors and make nature-loving friends as we hike at JB Williams, Blackledge Falls, and more! Each week we will hike at a different Glastonbury park while practicing trail navigation, searching for natural wonders and enjoying the changing seasons. Participants will receive a schedule of locations prior to the first week of the class, including suggestions for weather-appropriate clothing since this program meets rain or shine!Wild World: The Art of Conservation(Grades K-5)Kids learn about a famous conservationist in each class and how they are working to save the animals. Kids will explore the wonder and beauty of the animal kingdom, and discover nature in a way that inspires empathy, curiosity, and creativity. They learn about many different animals and how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the world. They experiment with a variety of art techniques and use Crayola art materials to create frog paintings, ink diffusion jellyfish, polar bear sculptures, and more! One Sweet World(Grades K-2)Our world is full of yummy sweetness to explore! All the sweet stuff— fruits, desserts, and drinks— inspire young artists to try a wide variety of artmaking methods. Puzzles, printing, painting, paper projects, and more make this delicious group of lessons oh-so-SWEET!Clay Craft Studio(Grades 3-5)Be inspired by ancient and modern artists to create your own expressions of clay art. Lessons using Chinese artifacts, mythology, and modern decorative design give the young artist an opportunity to make 3D objects that encourage mastery of clay techniques.Secret Agent Lab(Grades K-5)Join the Mad (Science) Labs program after school and develop your special agent and detective skills in this super hands-on program! Uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Sharpen your secret agent skills and discover how chemistry and the science of forensics can come to the aid of a secret agent. Identify and collect evidence – from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Use science and technology for investigation & sleuthing. Senior Center Stability Silver Sneakers Fitness Class - Silver Sneakers Stability- Nov/Dec
Stability is a group exercise class designed specifically to keep participants “safe on their feet”. Understanding the primary risk factors associated with falling and knowing what exercises will be beneficial in decreasing the risk for a fall provides substantial knowledge and practical work for class members to increase function and long-term independence. Music Together - Jingle Jam Saturdays 9:15
An innovative approach to early childhood music learning based on the premise that all children are inherently musical. Children explore and express music alongside their most important role models; parents, caregivers and teachers. Nurture your child’s natural enthusiasm for music & movement during this early childhood stage of most rapid growth. Instructor is Little Hands in Harmony. Join your favorite Music Together teachers for some musical magic with a wintery holiday theme. Jingle Jam will include singing, dancing, playing instruments and crafts for you and your little ones! Each semester, families receive a new Music Together® collection of songs with a CD, beautifully illustrated songbook, a downloadable app with access to all of your Music Together music to stream from your devices and filled with music-making ideas for spontaneous music play beyond the weekly classes.
